Frequently asked questions
Functional medicine is an individualized, root-cause approach to healthcare. Instead of chasing symptoms, we look at why they’re happening in the first place.
At STAT Wellness Charleston, that means taking a deep look at things like:
Hormones
Gut health
Immune function
Metabolism
Stress, sleep, and lifestyle factors
We prioritize lifestyle-based medicine—nutrition, movement, sleep, stress regulation, and targeted supplements—while also valuing and prescribing medications when appropriate. This is not anti-medicine. It’s medicine done thoughtfully.
Our medical services are fee-for-service (cash-based), which allows for longer visits, deeper analysis, and truly personalized care.
That said:
We accept HSA/FSA
Labs are run through insurance whenever possible
Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking with your insurer for lab-related benefits
Translation: fewer rushed visits, more actual problem-solving.
Charleston now offers both medicine and movement—because separating the two never made sense in the first place.
At our North Charleston location, services include:
Functional medicine visits
Hormone optimization
Metabolic, gut, and immune health support
IV therapy and injections
Body composition (InBody) scans

Our movement program focuses on:
Progressive overload
Joint stability and injury prevention
